Number

The Number rule checks that a field's value is a genuine number, using typeof under the hood — which means it passes for decimals as well as whole numbers, unlike the stricter Integer rule. It's the broader choice for fields like a price, a percentage, a weight, or a measurement, wherever the value may legitimately include a fractional part such as 19.99 or 2.5. If a field should only ever hold a whole number — a quantity, an age, a count — the Integer rule enforces that narrower requirement instead.
